Delicious with only a few ingredients, this smoothie is packed with beta carotene and calcium — great for your eyes, immune system and bones.
8 oz Water
2 Oranges, peeled and quartered
2 Large Carrots, cut in chucks
1/2″ of Fresh Ginger
1 TBSP Coconut Oil
1 TBSP Raw, Unfiltered Honey
Place the water and oranges in a high power blender and blend for about 20 seconds. Add the carrots and fresh ginger, blend on the highest setting for 2 minutes.
Add the coconut oil and honey and blend for additional 10 seconds.
Did you know oranges are very high in calcium? One orange has about 40mg of calcium! The carrots make this smoothie high in beta carotene – Vitamin A.
Adding the coconut oil helps vitamins and minerals to be absorbed more easily in the body. Coconut oil is also great for boosting the immune system and your metabolism. Because it is a fat it will digest slowly keeping you feeling full longer. The honey and ginger make the smoothie sweet and spicy and both are great for the immune system.
